As you may or may not have known MySpace has began hosting apps for its users to play. One of the most popular of these Apps is Mobsters. I'm sure you have seen a banner here and there that says join my mob or become myspace's number one mobster. Well if you were like me you probably for a while thought it was just some kind of Spam, scam, or something else of that nature. Who can blame you, MySpace is so cluttered with crap like that it is very easy to dismiss this. Despite this I noticed that Mobster postings were everywhere so I decided to give it a go. If everyone else is jumping off a bridge I wanna go too. Well it turns out this has far surpassed most of my expectations. You start out by adding the app to your myspace account, don't worry it will not download anything to your computer. It downloads to your main page so anywhere you can access myspace you can manage your mob too. The next step is to choose a name for you mobster this can be a daunting task because all the cool names are taken so you need to be creative. Then the third step is to choose whether you want your mobster to be bulletproof, insomniac, or tycoon. The bulletproof option allows you to replenish your life faster. The insomniac gives you the ability to replenish energy faster. The tycoon allows you to get money from your properties faster. Now you are probably wondering which one will I pick? Now all three have there own benefits if you plan on fighting a lot you may want to choose bulletproof, if you want to do missions all the time then select the insomniac. The tycoon allows you to amass wealth through your properties quickly, now this seems to be a better choice because you can heal yourself at the hospital and buy better weapons for fighting. With that in mind don't worry if you choose one and don't like how your game is going you can start a new game with another character.

  Now its time to get into the game itself you start off on the main screen You should see a list of headings such as your mobster name, health, energy, stamina, cash, mob, exp, and level we will get into this a little more in just a bit. The next row says main, missions, territory, bank, godfather, fight, hit list, equipment, hospital, my mob, my mobster, and made men. Now lets break these down because you will be using this row most in the game. First off is the main tab this tells you all the news about your mob and who is attacking you and sending you bulletins this is the page where you can get revenge on those who get you while you are not on line. Next up is the bread and butter of mobsters the missions tab. This is where you do missions to gain experience points and money to fund your mob each mission requires a certain amount of energy, mobsters, and equipment. This is where you need to keep an eye on your energy levels at the top when it reaches zero you cannot do anymore missions until your energy replenishes itself so choosing missions requires you to think out your strategy so you can get the best results. Also important to note is when you do missions you gain experience and thus level up keep in mind the higher your level the more people below or at your level can attack you and take your money. Don't worry there is a good side to leveling up as well. Each time you level up you can click on my mobster tab and assign 3 skill points to your mobster. You can choose from attack strength, defense power, max energy, max health, and max stamina. This page explains everything you need to know about each category so we are not gonna go any further into that. The next tab is territory this is where you can get a big fat paycheck each hour. You get to buy various lots and then you can improve them with houses, restaurants, and casinos. Later on in the game more properties become available for you to choose from. Next up is the bank tab you need at least $10,000 to start a bank account, here is where you can deposit and withdraw your loot. This is very important because money in the bank cannot be stolen from you only money you have on hand can be taken so every time you login make sure you deposit your cash. There is also a 10% bank fee for each deposit you make. Next up is the godfather tab here you can use favor points you have to get more money, mobsters, energy etc. You get favor points by complete ting certain objectives in the game or you can buy them by signing up for various ads.

  Next up we have the fight tab. This is where you can fight other mobs to steal there cash and gain experience just click on attack and depending on your mob size and equipment you may win or lose. Now you can fight bigger mobs and win if you are well equipped. I have beaten a mob of 150 with my mob of 30 because I had all the right equipment. Thirty people with rocket launchers should be able to beat 150 people with crowbars wouldn't you think? Use logic when fighting other mobs. Next up is the hit list tab. Occasionally there will be people here you can try to take out and earn the reward someone has put on their head. This is a quick way to get rich if you can do a hit successfully. However due to the cost to put someone on the hit list there is very little opportunities here. After that we have the equipment tab. This is where you can arm your mob with things like handguns to rocket launchers. You can also buy vehicles to complete other missions and fight with. You need to buy one weapon for each member of your mob to be successful. Each member of your mob can have one weapon, one armor, and one vehicle. Make sure you look at the upkeep cost of your equipment as well if you don't have the funds from your territory income you cannot get the item because your upkeep happens every time you get paid from your territory. So for example if you earn $1000 every hour and your equipment upkeep is $500 then that means every hour you will only be making $500. Moving on to the next tab is the hospital. Here is where you can heal yourself you must have money in the bank to heal yourself. The my mob tab is where you can invite more people to join your mob and to see the people currently in your mob as well as people who have invited you to their mob. The my mobster tab shows your stats and this is where you can start a new game. Finally is the made men tab here you can see who is the top mobster of the day in four categories. You can also break it down to your region too. So strive for greatness and you will be here someday.... hopefully.

  That covers all the basics of mobsters for you. As you play along new thing appear like missions, equipment, and territories the higher your level gets. So potentially this game could go on for a long time. The ultimate goals in mobsters is to have a mob size of 500 and to be a made man. You achieve that and you're set.
